The Museum of Popular Art of Mexico City and the Arocena Museum present, for the first time at this venue, the fifth edition of an exhibition that bridges the gap between artisans and artists. A project that began ten years ago, enriched along the way by the contributions integrated through the ingenious and natural formula of adding amalgamated skills and knowledge to formulate an inclusive and harmonious proposal.

This exhibition aims to go beyond the boundaries of creative, semiotic, aesthetic and technical processes between crafts and plastic arts. For this reason, applied arts made individually and from different regions of the country are shown, as well as a selection of others worked jointly by plastic artists and artisans.

In total, the sample brings together the participation of 108 creators around different trades such as pottery, ceramics, jewelry, cabinetmaking, working with natural fibers, lapidary, goldsmithing, plumaria and textiles, just to mention a few.

This great effort achieved by all the participants enriches the ingenuity of the manufacture and renews a highly competitive terrain. Especially it becomes an innovative proposal, in fields and trades that it was necessary to make visible to support the creative field of Mexico in its broadest spectrum.

With this collaboration, both institutions reiterate their commitment to show contemporary artistic production in all its manifestations. On this occasion, with emphasis on promoting new interpretations around the artistic object and enhancing the possibilities of interdisciplinary collaboration in national creation.
