Since September 15, Paris celebrates the centenary of the execution of Emiliano Zapata, charismatic leader of the Mexican revolution, with an exhibition created by the RUBICO collective, “Zapata the disruptor” presenting more than 70 works by artists. important visuals.

On the occasion of the centenary of the murder of Emiliano Zapata, hero of the Mexican Revolution, the "Rubico" Collective and the "Viva Zapata" Foundation present "Zapata el disruptor", a traveling exhibition in homage to the "Caudillo" that brings together more than 70 pieces with an approximate weight of 68,000 kilos.

The inauguration took place on September 15 at the Mark Hachem Gallery, place des Vosges (75003), in the presence of the direct descendants of General Zapata, Marta, July and Manuel Manríque Zapata, granddaughters and sons, and Ulises Manrique, great-grandson.

This first part of the exhibition ended on September 21.

This evening was an opportunity to meet the artistic director of "Rubico", Gonzalo Ortiz Blanco, as well as the artists among which is the plastic artist Arnaldo Coen who captures Zapata in Goyard or Vuitton paintings to show the recycling game ; Domingo Zapata or Daniel Lezama.

Alongside the contemporary art exhibition, a series of unique and personal objects was presented from September 17 to 23 at the MR 137 gallery, rue du Temple (75003).

There was the saddle of the historical character; a Charro suit; photographs by Gabriela Zaavedra; portraits and works of Jesús Lima, including his interpretation of shoes on extinct ten-peso bills; by Lezama and Andrés Amaya.

The third and last part of the exhibitions currently takes place from October 4 to 28 at the MR80 gallery, rue de Turenne (75003).

"Apostle or demon" allows us to learn more about Zapata, "the warlord of the south", about his personality and what led him to become this mythical and historical character.
